Conversations in Indian Comics- Anant Pai

Conversations in Indian Comics- made possible by a grant given to Bharath Murthy from India Foundation for the arts, Bangalore, to study Indian comics. Edited by Alka Singh.

Anant Pai, a giant among Indian comics publishers, started Amar Chitra Katha, mythologizing history and historcizing mythology, mostly Hindu mythology. One of the weirdest artifacts in Indian comics, going by the first critical book on Indian comics, 'The Classic Popular: Amar Chitra Katha- 1967-2007', by Nandini Chandra, released in 2008.
